Troy-Argiri “Roula” Giannoulis Aletrakis, 82, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2018 in Greece. Born in Peristasis, Greece she was the daughter of the late Savvas and Katerina Giannoulis and loving wife to the late Tony Aletrakis, he died in 2001.
Mrs. Aletrakis moved to Troy in 1962 from Greece to marry her husband, she was a stay at home mom, grandmother and excellent cook and expert seamstress and she enjoyed gardening. She was a member of St. Basil’s Chapter Ladies Philoptohos and a member of St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church.
Roula is survived by her daughter, Maria Aletrakis Gorman of Cohoes, her grandson Anthony Gorman, and twin granddaughters Nicolette and Sophia Gorman, her sister Eleni Kalamaras (late Kyriako) of Greece, her brothers Mihali Giannoulis (Kiki) of Greece and Nicholas Giannoulis (Marika) of Greece, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to the St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church, 909 River Street, Troy, NY 12180 for a gathering, on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 9:00am. Funeral mass will follow at 10:00 am with Rev. Fr. Emmanuel E. Mantzouris officiating. . Burial will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
