Valley Falls - Louella Bonesteel, 60 passed peacefully into eternal rest at St. Peter’s Hospital on December 25, 2018 Christmas Day after a short illness.
Born in Troy on October 9, 1958, Louella was the daughter of the late Maurice and Maxine Cunningham. She attended Hoosic Valley Central Schools. Over the years, Louella, or Lou as she was more affectionately known, wore many hats, including mother, nurse, substitute teacher, and baker. She even went through a time wearing red hats.
Lou was married to the late Allan Bonesteel, originally of Petersburg, NY. She is survived by her two daughters, Anna (William Jr.) Fitzgerald of Valley Falls and MaryGrace (Richard Jr.) Califano of Palm Harbor, Fl. In addition, she is survived by her partner, Raymond Boltz of Valley Falls, her brother Maurice (Rena) Cunningham Jr. of Utica and her sister Maxine (Jim) Madigan of Salisbury, NC.
Lou was a religious and spiritual person. She loved baking, art, painting, giving “huggies”, holiday traditions, and crocheting. Above all she loved being Grammy to her three grandchildren, Robert, Brianna and Gabriella.
“Those we love don’t go away, they walk besides us every day… unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday December 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill. Please visit www.mcloughlinmason.com
