Anne "Nancy" Gress

Anne C. (Nancy) Gress went home to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Gress was the mother of ten children (nine of which she is survived by). She is also survived by her husband of seventy years, John H. Gress Sr., fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a great homemaker and a wonderful wife and mother. In her youth, she was very active in Saint Augustine’s Mother’s Club. In her later years, she called bingo at Sacred Heart School. She loved music and dancing and was a beautiful piano player. She loved people and brought a smile to everyone she came in contact with. She was known as “Nancy” to all her friends and family. She will truly be missed.

Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the St. Augustine’s Church, Troy. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Family and friends are invited and may call from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. In memory of Anne donations may be made to charity of choice. Please visit www.mcloughlinmason.com.

Uncle John and family, So sorry for your loss. Aunt Nancy was always there to help the family in any way and a caring person. Ed thought the world of her and talked of her often. She was very understanding in my father's situation and came to see him in the hospital in is time of need. She'll be deeply missed. Love,Lisa,Christopher,Ed and Edie

The Gress house became family central for the whole extended family. Many happy times were created by Nancy's loving touch. I remember Christmas gatherings (with her kids putting on skits), summer picnics (with her famous macaroni salad straight off the floor), seeing her perform in civic theater and in recent years weekly gatherings of her sibs for cards (which she impishly cheated at by getting Tommy to play her hand for her) lol. Too funny. She was loving, gleeful, song-filled and funny. She and her hearty laugh will be missed along with the gleam in her eyes when she smiled. Clearly the heart of the family! RIP Nancy
