George "Fil" Steiner

George “Fil” Steiner, 91 passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021.

Born and raised in Troy, he was the son of the late George E. Steiner and Frances Smith Steiner and the loving husband to Clara Steiner.

Fil graduated from Lansingburgh High School, class of 1947. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Norton Company as a purchasing agent.

In addition to his wife Clara, he is survived by his step daughters Renee Murphy Giannetti (Christopher) of Averill Park and Jennifer Kazmierczak of Wilton, his grandsons Logan Murphy and Markus Kazmierczak.

Visitation will be held Sunday March 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home 8-109th Street, Troy. Funeral services will be held 10:00 am on Monday March 15, 2021 at Trinity Church Lansingburgh (Episcopal) corner of 115th Street and 4th Avenue, Lansingburgh. Burial will be private. Memorial donations in memory of George may be made to Trinity Church Lansingburgh P.O. Box 212 Troy, NY 12182. Please note that social distancing, masks and occupancy limitations in funeral home and church are required.

Clara, you have my heartfelt sympathy on the loss of Fil. I have fond memories of living next door to the Steiners on 8th Ave. They were so kind to my twins.
