John J. Dinardo, 94 died on July 4, 2021 at St. Peter’s Hospital after a brief illness, with his family by his side.
Born in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Orazio and Amalia (Valente) Dinardo. He attended Catholic Central High School and was a graduate of Veteran Vocational School. He enlisted in the United States Navy, World War II, in 1945 from which he received an Honorable Discharge.
Mr. Dinardo was employed by the Bendix Corp. as an electrician for 36 years until his retirement in 1986. He later formed Dinardo Electric Co. and also was a real estate agent with Lewis Realty.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Elinor Lewis Dinardo, and his children Jerry Dinardo (Elizabeth) of Clifton Park, Jeffrey Dinardo (Rhonda) of Malta and Julie Keene (Jeffrey) of Halfmoon.
He is also survived by his sister Bianca Razzano of Halfmoon, brother Joseph Millay (Lorraine) of Springfield, Vt., and many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his son John Dinardo (Sharon) of Lenexa, KS, sister Janet Lassi (Camp Hill, PA) and brother Angelo Dinardo (Troy, NY).
He was the most dedicated and lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, never wavered in his support of them. He also enjoyed a passion for the game of golf that he shared with his son Jeff and his good friend Phil Folmsbee. And what brought some of the greatest joy in his life were his beloved dogs and grand-dogs: Chow, Chi-Chi, Barkley, Layla, Tucker and Bode.
Funeral services and mass will take place at St. Mary’s Church Crescent, NY on Saturday July 10, 2021 at 10:00 am. Interment will immediately follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
