John Mellen, Jr.

Troy-John J. Mellen, Jr, 75 passed away on October 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Wytheville, Virginia, he was the son to the late John J. Mellen, Sr. and Margaret Lovern Mellen and the loving husband to Jodi Conlen Mellen.

John graduated from Columbia High School.

In addition to his wife Jodi, he is survived by his sons William (Eva) and John (Danielle), his grandchildren Sara, David, Daniel, Cole and Kyla, his great granddaughter Arianna and his in-laws Joyce and George Vealey, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his brothers Ray, Joe, Larry, John III and David.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday October 7, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Funeral services will be held Friday 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.

Memorial donations in memory of John may be made to Latham Community Baptist Church, 109 Forts Ferry Rd., Latham, NY 12110.

I don't really remember you but I know you are my grandfather. My condolences to my mother, (your daughter) for the loss of her father and to the rest of the family. RIP... may e one day there can be a family reunion in your honor

I met John at work in the 70s, Sterling Drug in Rensselaer and later my husband Dan worked with Jodi and John for Nycomed/AMRI. He was a wonderful friend and co-worker. He will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
