The outpouring of love for Melanie has had one consistency; she is and always will be the brightest light. Melanie was born on May 17, 1985 and was taken from us all so suddenly 6/25/2020. We would like to tell everyone how beautiful a child Melanie was, but know that it would embarrass her… Her blue eyes are incredibly unique and everyone asks if they are real. It’s a perfect analogy for who Mel is, a being so completely perfect, one has to ask whether or not she is real. Melanie has forever two pieces of her heart, her daughter Phoenix Danish and fiancé Jacob O’Brien. Melanie was shaped by and has eternally: her mother Ellen Randolph, her father James Alexander (Nicki Leet), her sisters Shannon Alexander and Amanda Rowlands (Kellin Rowlands), her beloved nieces and nephews Ganjah Boyce, Sonai Cummings, Maddeson and Lola Rowlands, her Uncle Ang, as well as the rest of her family Kristen Nichols, Tegan Mayer and Cassandra Jonas. Melanie’s is defined and is a symbol of thoughtfulness, empathy, and kindness to all those who have been lucky enough to have spent time with her. She moved her wedding date to 10/3/2020 to provide happiness for others. She effortlessly documented everyone's moments of happiness behind her camera lens, leaving behind a treasure trove of memories of every single person she touched. We wish we could include all of the many people who felt Melanie’s love and light over the years and are so incredibly thankful for all those who love her - you know who you are. Services for Mel will be held at McLaughlin and Mason funeral home in Troy, NY on Tuesday, 6/30/2020 from 3-6pm.
Please note that social distancing, masks and occupancy limitations in the funeral home are required. For online condolences please visit www.mcloughlinmason.com.

As a fellow employee of Davis Vision Melanie was one of the first people I met who was always so helpful and kind. I am so saddened by this news and so looked forward to getting back to our normal work days to have my daily encounters with Mel, so sweet to always have kind words and friendly smile...your sweet child will know how kind you were.

So many wonderful memories I had with Melanie during the years we worked together. She had a sparkle and enthusiasm for life that was infectious! She was beautiful inside and out! Her daughter was her life and light, and her talent for photography was unique and amazing. Every year we got to enjoy the birthday photos of Pheonix (Her beloved Peanut) that we all looked forward to! A privilege to watch her little girlgrow. She loved Hello Kitty and Coheed Cambria. She had a magical soul that touched you from the moment you met. I am a better person because of her smile, her laughter and her positive outlook! The world is a better place because she was in it. She leaves behind treasures in all our lives and hearts that are unique to her. My condolences to her fianc and family..and prayers for her daughter that she can keep Melanies spirit shining in her life. Melanie-You are missed beyond understanding!

Melanie was a positive light in this world. I worked with her for many many years. She loved to talk about her daughter, fianc and her family and doing so made me feel like I knew each and everyone of them. She adored her life, music and photography and I enjoyed listening and looking at her work. She was so much fun to work with and so easy to be friends with. I feel so very sad and I know that I speak for anyone who had the pleasure to know her how truly one of a kind she was. Rest in piece sweet girl, till we meet again one day.
