Thomas D'Allaird

Thomas Leroy D’Allaird, 71 raised in Troy, New York, passed suddenly on February 19, 2018 in Lakeland, Florida.

Born in Troy, NY, he moved to Clifton Park, NY in 1979, and later to Lakeland, FL in 1994.  Tom served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.  He held many sales jobs throughout his career and became an entrepreneur shortly after moving to Florida.  He was a licensed Auctioneer and a Licensed wholesaler, and in retirement chose to work part time for Lakeland Automall.

Tom enjoyed traveling and visiting family, especially his grandkids.  He liked fishing, scenic drives, Trips to the horseracing track and playing poker with his friends.  He loved visiting New York to see friends and family.  Every trip to New York included breakfast at Lakeside Farms, Friday Fish Fry at Snyder’s restaurant, and a drive through Oakwood cemetery where his parents are buried.

Tom is predeceased by his parents Catherine and Thomas.  He is survived by his beloved wife Linda, and his children Troy (Yvette), Allen, Craig (Trisha), and Brian (Colleen); as well as his grandchildren Daniel, Xander, Austin, Thomas, Nathan, Lucas and Benjamin.  He is also survived by his siblings Joan (David), Jim (Rosemary), Joseph (Kathy), David (Ann Marie), Susan (Paul) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He claimed to be the D’Allaird family Horseshoe and card champion and asks that no one listen to his brother Joe’s claims otherwise.

Calling hours will be Sunday February 25th, 4-7 pm at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home in Troy NY.  Funeral Monday February 26th at 10 am.

Guestbook

Linda, I am so sorry to hear the news of Toms passing. I will always hold the memories close to my heart of all my trips to Florida and the many many laughs we all shared. He will always be one of the kindest souls I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and his entire family, all who knew and loved him.

It was so exciting for Larry and I to see Tom and his family at the reunion this summer. I liked him right away. He reminded me of his dad, my Uncle Roy, who I remember well as a child. Tom would have been one of the many in the mix with the O'Briens at family affairs. The years cannot take away the strong pull off family connection. It tugs at my heart to know he will be missed by so many that love him. My condolences to his loved ones.
