Alexander T. Dogias

Cohoes-Alexander T. Dogias, 79 passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2023 at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, he was the son to the late Thomas Dogias and Mary Mileon Dogias. Alexander attended Poughkeepsie Public Schools thru his third year of high school. Family moved to Troy summer of 1960, he graduated from Troy High School, class of 1961.

Alexander served in the United States Navy from December 1961 to April 1966, he attained rank of Yeoman Petty Officer 2^nd class.  He worked for Norton Company (St Gobain) for 30 years.

Alexander sang in the Greek Orthodox Church in Poughkeepsie and Troy. He was choir director at St. Basil’s Church for over 30 years.

In addition to his mother and father, he was predeceased by his brothers Nicholas Dogias, Reverend Demetrius Dogias, and George Dogias.

Alexander is survived by his aunt Eugenia Mileon Muscatello Feiden, his uncle Edward Mileon, also survived by many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and in laws. A special thank you to Alexander’s family at St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church and to his wonderful neighbors on McDonald Drive in Cohoes.

 A funeral service for Alexander will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday January 23, 2023 at St. Basil’s Greek Orthodox Church 909 River Street, Troy with Reverend Emmanuel Mantzouris officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Family and friends are invited and may visit from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday January 22, 2023, Trisagion Memorial service will be 4:30 pm all at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home 8 109^th Street (Corner of 109^th Street and Third Avenue) Lansingburgh.
