Anne L. O’Brien, 84, formerly of Loudonville passed away Saturday January 7, 2017. Anne was born and raised in Albany, she was the daughter of Thomas Leonard and Marie Flaherty Leonard and was the loving wife to R. Dennis O’Brien, and he died in 1981.

Anne graduated from Vincention Institute, class of 1949 and SUNY Cobleskill where she studied nutrition.  She was employed as a nutritionist for several healthcare facilities in the area.

Anne was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and supporting the endeavors of her children and grandchildren. She always put the needs of others before herself and she was involved in many volunteer activities.  Anne was active in the Ladies of Charity through the Catholic Diocese and was a literacy volunteer and assisted at Sacred Heart Church after retirement. Anne’s zest for life and spirit of fun was enjoyed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved children Erin O’Brien (James MacDonald) of Stockbridge, Ma, Dennis O’Brien (Margo) of North Greenbush and Moira O’Brien (Michael Felt) of Loudonville, her cherished grandchildren Shamus MacDonald, Brian MacDonald,  Murielle O’Brien, Gordon O’Brien, Colleen Felt and Bridget Felt, and her longtime friend James Lennon.

In addition to her mother, father and husband she was predeceased by her sisters Marcia Leonard and Mary Anderson.

Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am on Friday January 13, 2017 at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
