Barbara Gibbs

Barbara J. Gibbs, 73, of Third Avenue passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at St. Peter's Hospice. Barbara was the daughter of the late Eugene Durocher and Irene Peltier Durocher, and loving wife of the late Donald Gibbs, Sr.

Barbara graduated from Catholic Central High School, class of 1956; she previously worked for New York Telephone as a secretary, Garden Way as an accounting clerk and Rensselaer Park Elementary School as a noon aide.

Barbara enjoyed bowling at the Alpha Lanes, playing bocce and volunteering at the Waterford Docks Visitor's Center. But most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survived by her loving children; Ellen (Donald) Neudecker of Johnsonville, Brenda (Robert) Martiniano of Troy, Anne (Greg) Myer of Washington, Donald (Amanda) Gibbs, Jr. of Cohoes, Dr. Kurt Gibbs of Kentucky, her cherished grandchildren; Dr. Victoria Neudecker, Jillian (Cameron) Herrington, Anthony Martiniano, Nick Martiniano, Jordan Myer, Gianna Myer, Alexis Gibbs, Luke Gibbs, Ashley Batchelder and one great granddaughter, her siblings; Florence (Charles) Guild of Clifton Park, Arthur (Agnes) Durocher of Schenectady, also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband and five siblings; Eugene Durocher, John Durocher, Bertha Durocher, Irene Cooper and Mildred Charbonneau.

Funeral service will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
