Barbara Spain

Barbara K. Spain, 79, passed away on November 25, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Barbara was born in Troy, NY to the late Warren B. Kircher and Rita Blair. She was the cherished wife of James H. Spain. She graduated from St. Augustine’s School and Catholic Central High School, class of 1960.

Barbara was a secretary at St. Augustine’s School in Troy, NY for 25 years, touching the lives of many, many students.

In addition to her husband James, she is survived by her children Michael (Shawna) Spain of Latham, Mark (Corina) Spain of Watervliet, and Maureen Daurio of Cohoes. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Patricia Ann Spain, Talya Spain, Kylea Spain, Shelby Daurio, Nathaniel Spain, and Dakota Blair Daurio, her great grandson Aiden James McNally, her brother Warren B. Kirchner (Sandy).

Barbara will always be known for her wonderful sense of humor, quick wit, and infectious laugh. She had an amazing willingness to give of herself     wherever and whenever it was needed, she was a true friend that could always be called upon in a time of need.  No one could ever ask for more in a wife or a mom, she gave with everything she had and loved as hard as she possibly could. Barbara has left behind so very many memories on the countless lives she has touched, and we thank her for that so much more.

Family and friends are invited and may call on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 5-7 PM at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Troy. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh. Burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery in Troy, NY.
