Beverly Guthrie of Troy, passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on September 8th, 2020 surrounded by loved ones in her home. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Lois Graber, growing up in Speigletown with her 6 brothers and sisters.
She graduated from Lansingburgh High School before working for the New York Department of Health, where she spent 30 years, retiring at the age of 60.
Beverly cherished being retired and spending time with her granddaughter, Taylor and other loved ones.
She was a communicant of Saint Augustine’s and participated in volunteer work for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. She enjoyed completing the daily crossword puzzle and her mid-morning walks. Most of all, she loved travelling, particularly visiting her family cabin in Vermont.
Beverly was of kind and giving spirit who gave selflessly of herself to help others.
Beverly is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff, to whom she was married for 40 years; her two sons, Stuart and Zak; her daughter-in-law, Katie Guthrie; Zak’s fiancée, Karla Gutierrez; her grand-daughter, Taylor; her siblings: Claudia Mahoney (Jack), Denise Lewis (Scott), Jack Graber (Karen), Mark Graber (Kathy), and Stephen Graber (Joely); her mother-in-law, Gerry Guthrie; her brother and sisters-in-law, Jennifer and Robert Newton and Joanne Graber; and all their respective families, including her many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Jack and Lois Graber, her brother Gary Graber, and her niece Becky Graber.
Family and friends are invited to call from 4 to 7 pm on Friday September 11, 2020 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Funeral mass will be celebrated 9:00 am on Saturday at St. Augustine’s Church, Troy. Burial will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery.
Please note that social distancing, masks and occupancy limitations in the funeral home are required.
