Carl Sanders

Carl Sanders, 63, of Albany, was called home on August 5, 2015. He was born February 28, 1952, in Johnston County, N.C., the son of the late Allison and Rena (Lassiter) Sanders. He was the third oldest of five siblings. He graduated from Brooklyn High School and served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, he was employed by New York State Taxation & Finance for 27 years, retiring in 2015. He is survived by his son, Curtis Sanders; daughters, Lakisha Sanders, Carmica Sanders, Cytaya Sanders-Acevedo, Rahkeyla Sanders and son-in-law, Jaime Acevedo of Albany; 19 grandchildren; sister, Clementine Flanagan; brother-in-law, Edward Flanagan; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his brothers, Allison Jr., Larry and Glenwood. A viewing will be held Thursday, August 13, 2015, from 4-5 p.m. and funeral services will be at 5 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Albany. Burial will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville on Friday, August 14, at 9:30 a.m.
