Cecilia "Sheila" Guerineau

Cecilia “Sheila” Guerineau, 87 passed away on Tuesday July 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glack, Carndonagh, County Donegal, Ireland, she was the daughter to the late William McElhinney and Mary McDowall McElhinney and the loving wife to the late Douglas Guerineau, he died in 2004.

She migrated to the United States after marrying her husband, they settled in Troy after being a Navy wife, she was a homemaker for years, until she worked at R.P.I. Credit Union until she retired.

She was Devout Christian and Catholic her whole life and it was her faith that got her through her most difficult times in her life. We believe she is at peace now and with her husband and the rest her family in eternal rest.

Sheila is survived by her children Margaret Stockton of Brunswick, Kathy (Philip) Anthony of Troy and Douglas Guerineau of Pittsfield, Ma., her cherished grandchildren Brendan Farrell, Michael Anthony, Daniel Anthony and Tara Anthony, her sister Kathleen Daly of Ireland, and numerous blessed nieces and nephews, unfortunately cannot be named, her dear friend Joanne VanDervoort.

Sheila was predeceased by her siblings Mary, Ann, Margaret, Eileen, Philamena, James, William, Donald and Monica.

The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Orsi, Dr. Jospeh Farooq and the staff for the compassion and care given to Sheila.
