Daisy Lynn

Troy- Daisy Lynn, formerly Ruth Elizabeth Taft, left this realm and into the arms of her beloved daughter Rachael, after a short but valiant fight.

She is the mother of 4 children, Michael, Jean, John and Rachael, countless critters and her much loved monkey, Casey. Her children were her pride and joy and her grandchildren lit up her world. She loved them with an all consuming, deep and abiding love. She also had a tight knit group of 'chosen family' that she cherished and lavished with her light.

She lived her life with zest and zeal. She was not only a survivor but a thriver. She faced many hurdles and heartaches in life and was able to circumvent them with grace and the lessons learned by each experience. Her compassion was unequaled. She turned the struggles to strength, not only for herself but for countless others by sharing her story. She studied and became a Certified Peer Specialist and was awarded the Purple Ribbon Award at a Gala Event in 2017 for her service.

She was an artist, born from the grief of losing her daughter. It was her therapy and she parlayed it into an art therapy group for domestic violence survivors. Giving them healing through art and creating. Her artwork was showcased in a gallery, commissioned, purchased and more often than not, gifted to those she loved.

She dreamed of being an author and accomplished just that.

Co Authoring a book in 2016, "Frugal Eating In The New Depression" with M.L. Gardner. She loved cooking, even when she was the only one at the table!

She taught herself how to build and repurpose discarded items, breathing new life into them. Again her creativity shining through. She was a voracious reader, researcher and student, always learning and sharing her new found knowledge.

She was a teacher, a healer, a cheerleader and the list goes on. Her legacy will live on in the stories, the laughter, the artwork that spoke her heart, her recipes for food and for life but also in the gifts she brought to everyone by the presence of her in their lives. She was teaching and leading until her last breath, guiding us through our grief.

She will be missed so much and the love will live for eternity.

Daisy is survived by her children, Michael Barcomb of Sunderland VT, Jean Devenow (Justin) of East Hartford CT, John Elliott of NY and Sarah Gagnon (John) of Pownal VT. She is also survived by her Father Berniss Taft, II and her siblings, Kim Perrotta (John), Martin Taft, Jason Griffith (Jess), her Grandchildren and Fur Grandchildren, Summer, Michael, Ian, Cody,Christian, Jada, Jolie, Gracie, Finley and Mickey, her daughter from another mother Nicole Judkins, her soul sisters Bonnie Grant and Shirley Volter, and her special friend Omar Cruz.
