Doris Castle

Doris J. Kruger Castle, 87 of Kane Apartments and former West Park Place resident passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Herman F. Kruger and Elsie A. Davenport Kruger and wife of the late Charles L. Castle, who died in 1999.
Raised and educated in Lansingburgh, she was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1945. Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She was a former member of Prince of Peace Church, Lansingburgh and Christ Church United Methodist, Troy. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church, Lansingburgh.
Survivors include her two sons Charles F. Castle (Colleen) of Troy, John W. Castle (Cheryl) of Ceresco, NE, her daughter Susan Dame of Schaghticoke, eight grandchildren Valerie, Christopher, Darren, Todd, Timothy, Jennifer, Jodie, Zachary, 18 great grandchildren, two nieces Rollene Stewart of Wynantskill and Linda Hensel of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Doris was predeceased by her sister Shirley Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh, with Rev. E. Allen Siebold officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
Cremation will take place at the Gardner Earl Crematorium.
