Troy-Dorothy M. Donohue, 97, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her home. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late James McMenamin and Georgiana (Lair) McMenamin and the wife of the late James D. Donohue.
Dorothy was a graduate of the New York City Schools and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. She moved to Troy, NY in 1951 and settled into life as a homemaker. She loved to cook, garden, read, and crochet and had a special fondness for animals, especially cats.
Survivors include two sons, James Donohue of Ellington, CT, and Kevin (Eileen Hebert) Donohue of North Greenbush, NY; grandchildren Brian (Lauren) Donohue of S. Windsor, CT, and Megan (Matt) Glunt of S. Windsor, CT. Two great-grandchildren Elliott and Elise Glunt and her sister Josephine Rella of Latham. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother James and sister in law Mary McMenamin; her aunt Josephine Lerner; and daughter in law Mary Donohue; and her brother in law William Rella.
Services will be private.
