Dorothy Piascik Lojewski, 87 of Banbury Road passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late William Piascik and Lottie Linkiewisz Piascik and wife of the late Walter Lojewski who died l997.
Raised and educated in Syracuse, she was a teacher's aide for the George Washington School working with the hearing impaired children. Dorothy will be remembered as a caring and given person who was always doing things for others. She was a devoted volunteer for the North Greenbush Library and Community Hospice. She was an avid reader and treasured her family and friends.
Survivors include her son Stephen Lojewski (Eileen) of Johnsonville, her grandson Adam Lojewski and her granddaughter Heather Lojewski.
Funeral services will be 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church , Pawling Avenue, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.
Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rensselaer County Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
