Douglas Fuess, Sr

Douglas A. Fuess, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force; he worked for 29 years as the Executive Director of Empire State Concrete and Aggregate Producers Association. Doug was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a diehard NY Yankee's fan, an avid outdoorsman and a jack of all trades. Doug had a passion for cars, so much so, that after retirement he went on to work an additional 15 years in the automotive industry. Those that knew Doug will remember him as a kind and generous man; he could always be counted on to lend a hand if you were in need.

Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Althea, his children, Rebecca McGuire, Cynthia O'Rourke (John), Doug Fuess, Jr. (Lynda), a sister, Sally Knapp (Ken), grandchildren, Alexandra McGuire, Jeremy McGuire, Jay O'Rourke, Amy O'Rourke, Ben Fuess, Abby Fuess, Kate Fuess and his grandpuppies, Chester and Otto.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Burial will follow at Saratoga National Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 20, 2015 at the funeral home.

Memorial contribution may be made to Community Hospice of Rensselaer County or the American Cancer Society.
