Emma Curley

Emma F. (Cody) Curley, passed away on January 7, 2021, surrounded by her loving children.  She resided in Speigletown and most recently Heritage House.  Emma enjoyed the many years she spent working as a crossing guard in Troy because she loved spending time in her community.  She loved sweets and enjoyed watching The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.  Emma was always laughing, smiling, and enjoying her tea.  She loved to sing, “One Day at a Time,” which was also a mantra she encouraged her loved ones to follow because she loved to live in the moment and enjoy each precious memory she created.  As the matriarch of five generations, Emma was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She was admired and loved by all of her family and friends, she was always there for anyone who needed her and her kindness was contagious. Emma was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Cross) Cody.  She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Alfred Curley.  She is survived by her son, Thomas (Linda) Curley, daughters, Marie Job and Barbara (Thomas) Connor; her grandchildren, Christina (Edward Johnson) Curley, Scott Curley, Kimberly (Marlon Green) Job, Fred (Sarah Gerwin) Job, Jr., Ryan (Felicia) Job, Robert Connor, Thomas (Lindsay O’Sullivan) Connor, Jr., and Brandon (Christina) Connor; her great grandchildren, Courtney (Steven Root) Curley, Jasmine Gordon, Thomas Gordon, Logan Job, Maddox Job, Makayla Connor-Dion, Chase Connor, and Alexa Connor; and her great-great granddaughter, Ava Lynne DeVoe.  Many thanks to the compassionate doctors, nurses, and staff at Samaritan Intensive Care Unit, whose guidance helped Emma’s children navigate an extremely difficult situation.  Emma was kind and loved her family, she would want everyone out there to carry on those important sentiments.  She was one of a kind.  Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.  Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church, 25 115th Street, Troy.  Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.  Please note masks, social distancing, and occupancy limitations will be strictly enforced at the funeral home and church.  Memorial donations can be made in Emma’s memory to St. Augustine’s Church.  To leave a special message for the family, please visit www.mcloughlinmason.com.
