Genevieve Danskin Kelly Varone, 86, of High Point, died at home, Saturday, Nov 15th, after a short illness.
A native and lifelong resident of Troy, born July 11, 1928, daughter of the late Carmen and Frances Esposito Gallo, Mrs. Varone affectionately known to most as Jeanette, had been the office manager for Star and Strand Transportation Co of Troy for a number of years. A proud homemaker, Jeanette first and foremost was a loving Mother to her beloved children and their families.
An active volunteer, Jeanette was a member of the volunteer staff at Northwoods Rehabilitation of Troy, the Literacy Volunteers of America, and a member of the Van Rensselaer Garden Club. She was also and avid golfer.
Jeanette was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Roman Catholic Church of Troy.

Survivors include her husband Francis "Dick" Varone, whom she married in 1999, children Richard and Susan Danskin of Valley Falls, Scott and Suzanne Danskin of Pleasant Valley, Dr. Lesley Danskin and her husband Richard Michel of Troy and Mark and Barbara Danskin of Troy. Grandchildren Mandi Niegoda, Bradley Fuller, Kathleen "Kate" and Maureen "Molly" Danskin, Lauren Michel, Cooper Danskin and Bridget Danskin along with great granddaughter Addyson Niegoda. Also step children Kathleen Varone, Maureen and Paul Kruger, Frank and Renee Varone and all their children. Also a brother Joseph and Nancy Gallo of Troy.
Jeanette was also formerly married to Richard Danskin and widow of the late Harry F. Kelly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 No. Lake Ave, Troy, with burial in St. John's Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours at the Mason and McLoughlin Funeral Home, 109th St. and 3rd Ave, Troy on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Joseph's House and Shelter, 74 Ferry St., Troy, 12180, in loving memory of Genevieve "Jeanette" Varone.
