Gladys Carnavale Sagendorf Johnson, 86 of Sixth Avenue passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Michael A. Carnavale and Margaret Preston Carnavale and wife of the late Joseph G. Sagendorf and Robert Johnson.

Raised and educated in Troy, she was a graduate of Sacred Heart School. Gladys worked for the former Dandy Cleaners for many years and previously at Roxy Cleaners. Gladys treasured her family and they were a source of great joy to her. She enjoyed her time at the Eddy Day Break.


Survivors include her three sons Michael J. Sagendorf (Cynthia) of Watervliet, David B. Sagendorf (Darlene) of Troy, Gary R. Sagendorf (Karen) of Loudonville, her two daughters Cheryl A. Trantham of Lansingburgh, Dawn Sayers of Texas, twelve grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, two step brothers Mark Carnavale of Conesus, NY, Tracy Carnavale of Colonie and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys was predeceased by her sister Margaret Steinberg.


Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2015 from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 310 Spring Avenue, Troy, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
