Henry Lee Turner, 91, of, 161 9th Street Troy, New York., died Tuesday, June 23, 2015 peacefully at his home; he was the eldest son of the late Charles and Alzadie Turner. He was born September 4, 1923, in Montgomery, Alabama. He dropped out of grade school to help support his siblings
He served proudly in the Army over a period of 16 years during the World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Master Mason and lifetime member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge #25 in Troy, New York. He enjoyed bowling and socializing with family.
Survivors include sons, Charles III (Kim) of Chesapeake, Va, James E. (Sophia) of Troy, NY, Todd H. (Mimi) of Niskayuna; son, Ronald Burnett of Troy, NY, daughter, Ozella Burnett, ; NY, three brothers, Fitzgerald, William (Lillian), Earl (Betty); two sisters Willodell Carradine & Katie Watson, twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Henry was predeceased by his wife, Bernice, siblings Creola, Aldora, Charles, Frankie, Mary Alice and son, Richard Burnett.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 5th Avenue, Troy. Burial will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy. Calling Hours will be Monday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at church prior to funeral service.
