Humbert D. Grande, Jr. 82, of Fourth Avenue and former Lavin Court, Troy resident, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 in Community Hospice at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Humbert D. Grande, Sr. and Josephine Valente Grande and husband of the late Marilyn Ingraham Grande who died in 2004.
Raised and educated in Troy, he was a graduate of Troy High School, class of 1951. Humbert was a proud United States Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a respected iron worker with Local #12, Albany for 25 years, retiring in 1983. Humbert had an exuberance for life, he enjoyed the race track and loved his winters fishing in Florida with his special friend and companion Rosemarie. He was devoted to his family, his children and grandchildren were a source of deep joy to him. Humbert was a member of the CARB Club, Troy and the Veterans of Lansingburgh.
Survivors include his two daughters Sheila Mulki (Dr. Hani) of Amman-Jordan, Pamela Tobin (Tim) of Colonie, two sons Pete Grande, Mark Grande (Melinda) all of Troy, five beloved grandchildren Dr. Fawzi Mulki (Dana), Dr. Ramzi Mulki (Basma), Kristen and Dominic Grande, Michael Tobin (Olga), four great grandchildren Hani Mulki, Ryan Haley, Mia Stevens, Annabelle Grande, his brother Anthony Grande of Clifton Park and dearest friend Rosemarie Bevacqua.
Humbert was predeceased by his sister Dolores Inglis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Gardner Earl Crematorium Chapel, Oakwood Avenue, Troy, with Rev. Randall P. Patterson officiating.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
Donations in memory of Humbert may be made to the Lansingburgh Veterans Club, 777 First Ave., Troy, NY 12182.
