Inez Chestnut Holmes “Momma” 74, passed away on Thursday July 28, 2016 at her home. Born in Myrtle Beach, SC, she was the daughter to the late Sam and Bertha Chestnut.
Inez worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. She loved her family and they were her pride and joy, she would do anything for them, she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Johnny Earl Holmes of Troy, Ethel (Harold) Pettiway of Troy, Bernard Holmes of Troy, Lisa Holmes-Apolinaris (special friend Clarence) of Troy and Norris (Kenya) Gipson of Middletown, her son in law William Phillips of Brunswick, her grandchildren Sharita, Latoya, Terrell, Rashon, Lisa, Jameliah (Mimi), Norris Jr., William and Nyah, her great grandchildren Ayah Kai and Lola, her siblings Bessie (Leroy) Ross, Lizzie (Charles) Goings, Woodroe (Betty) Chestnut, Elijah (Joann) Chestnut, Catherine Chestnut, Nina Chestnut all of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jesse Chestnut of Troy, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Inez was predeceased by her daughter Vivian Phillips.
Funeral service will be Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call also prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 am at funeral home.
Burial will be private at Albany Rural Cemetery.
