James Martin

James B. Martin, 90 of Sixth Avenue passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Hudson Park Nursing Center.

Born in Troy, he was the son of the late William Martin and Mary Quinn Martin.

Raised and educated in Troy, he was a graduate of Albany Business College. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and United States Coast Guard. Jim was a business agent with the Carpenter's Union, Local #70 in Troy for 35 years, retiring in 1980. He was an active member and volunteer with the Troy Senior Citizens. Jim was a devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather who treasured his family. He always enjoyed playing cards with his friends.

Survivors include his son James T. Martin (Missy) of Troy, his grandson Jeffrey J. Martin (Courtney) of Las Vegas, granddaughter Melissa L. Martin of Troy, two great grandsons Alec J. Martin and Derek T. Martin, his brother Robert Martin of Vermont and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his brother William, Jack and Joseph Martin, his sister Marge King.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy.

Inurnment l will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

Cremation will take place at the Gardner Earl Crematorium. Troy.
