James P. Pratico

Troy-James P. Pratico, 70 passed away on July 2, 2023 at his home. Born in Schenectady, he was the son to the late Pasquale Pratico and Mary Longo Pratico and the loving husband to Leslie Mason Pratico.

James graduated from Linton High School in Schenectady, class of 1970, he also graduated from Hudson Valley Community College with a degree in Math & Science.

James was a professional golfer at the Norman Side Country Club. He worked as a data analyst for New York I.S.O. a nonprofit power grid retiring in 2019. In addition to his wife Leslie, he is survived by his children Elizabeth Pratico of Boston, Catherine (Timothy) Stockton of Troy and Patrick (Tarra) Pratico of Guilderland, his grandchildren Nathaniel Stockton, Evelyn Stockton, Elliott Stockton, Mason Pratico and Violet Pratico, his siblings Mary Pat (the late Raymond) Peters, Joann (Bruce) Crounse, Sara (Joseph) Compoli, John Pratico and Paul (Elizabeth) Pratico, his uncle Phil Pratico and aunt Mary Pratico, also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, a treasured childhood friend Dominick Rinalli and his faithful K9 companion “Sienna”.

He was predeceased by his mother, father and brother Philip Pratico. James was an ultimate family man who was known as the spiritual leader; above all he loved God, his wife and children. He was an avid sports fan who coached his children’s teams. Once retired, he doted on his grandchildren and enjoyed the simple parts of life with his bride of 45 years.

Family and friends are invited on Monday, July 10th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with a service at 1:00 pm all at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home corner of 109 th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
