Jeannette Bonomo

Jeannette (Janet) Teno Bonomo, 95 of The Pines entered into eternal life on Monday, May 30, 2016 in the loving presence of her family with dignity and grace.

Born in Troy on July 13, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John Teno and Pauline Mango Teno and beloved wife of Ralph J. Bonomo who died in 1981. She married the love of her life in 1943, they were married for 38 years.

Raised and educated in Watervliet, she was a graduate of Watervliet High School. Jeannette was employed at the Peerless Company in Troy as a cosmetic manager for many years where she received many awards for her wonderful work and mentoring. Jeannette was the embodiment of inspiration, faith, sharing and love of her fellow man. She always had a smile on her face and a helping hand for all in need. Ralph and Jeannette were music lovers which they passed down to their family. They were also great dancers, winning many dance competitions in the 1940's and 1950's. After her marriage they moved to Troy, where Jeannette was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church, Troy and was a member of the Rosary Society and a Girl Scout assistant leader. They moved to North Troy some years later and after Ralph's death she attended St. Augustine's Church. In her later years, Jeannette resided at the Pines @ Heartwood in Troy where she was involved in many volunteer activities, leading rosary, bingo caller, baking and cooking with the activities groups. Most dear to her heart, operating the Odds & Ends Store for the residents. She was always ready to help in anyway. She was honored in 2006 as the recipient of the service volunteer of the year award at a ceremony in Albany.

Jeannette was caregiver to her parents before their deaths and helped many family members in numerous ways. She was a woman of great faith and we find consolation in knowing she is with her God. Her most valued gift in life was her beautiful family. She was the heart of the family and always had words of wisdom and prayer for them. She guided them and rejoiced in every accomplishment.

Survivors include her beloved daughter and her husband Gail and James Allen of Loudonville, she was dearest Gram to Debra Groverston Angilletta and her husband Peter of New Jersey, Scott Groverston and his wife Michelle of Vermont. She was the proudest and most loving great grandmother (Gra) to Ava Brooke Angilletta. She also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jeannette was predeceased by her brother James Teno.

The family would like to express our thanks to Dr. Anthony Troitino, Dr. Eric Gross and staff for all their help and care. Most special thanks to Dr. R. Scott Morris and his staff and the ER and 4th floor staff at Samaritan Hospital especially nurse Andrea for their care, concern and generosity over the years, especially in her final hours.
