Joan H. Van Deursen Corrigan, 80, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Mary's Hospital on April 24, 2016.

Joan was born at home in North Brunswick, New Jersey, she was the daughter to the late Ferdinand W. Van Deursen, Sr. and Helen Space Van Deursen and was the loving wife of almost 60 years to Joe-Fran Corrigan of Clifton Park.

Joan moved to the Troy area in June 1944, she graduated from Lansingburgh High School, class of 1953 and New York State Institute at Cobleskill, class of 1956. She was a homemaker and mom, also working with her husband in his State Farm Insurance agency in Lansingburgh. She was active in PTA of the Lansingburgh School District, a former active member of Trinity Church in Lansingburgh and a current member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Clifton Park. Joan also was a member of the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club and Adirondack Running Club. To celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary they formed two marathon relay teams with their sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren and together ran the Lake Placid Marathon. Joan and Fran crossed the finish line hand-in-hand. The Corrigan teams supported the "Run for Dad" team for Prostate Cancer awareness and early detection.

In addition to her loving husband Fran, she is survived by her beloved sons Michael T. (Wendy Ott) Corrigan of Troy and Thomas J. Corrigan of Pittsfield, MA, her cherished grandchildren Kelsey J. Corrigan and Graeme K. Corrigan, her brother Ferdinand W. (Harriet) Van Deursen, Jr. of Olympia, WA, and her nieces Pam Van Deursen and Cindy Van Deursen. Joan was also loving aunt to Renee Archambault, Denise (Glen) Mikkelsen, Michele Moore and their families.

Joan was predeceased by her infant daughter Patricia Joy Corrigan.

Funeral services will be private.

The family will be forever grateful for the care and compassion she received from the nurses and staff at St Mary's Hospital 5th Floor, Community Hospice and Eddy Heritage House Rehabilitation Center.
