Joanne Jones

Joanne F. Jones 69, passed away peacefully December 4, 2020 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Joanne was born in Troy, she was the daughter to the late John Bloomingdale and Evelyn Barnum Bloomingdale, and the loving wife of George (David) Jones.

She graduated from Troy High School, class of 1970. She worked for the State of New York and the Troy School District.

Joanne married her husband David in 1970. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October. Joanne was a member of Trinity Church in Lansingburgh. Joanne loved all of God’s creatures, she loved horseback riding at her home and the care of her faithful dogs and cats. Joanne fostered many pitbull dogs for a local rescue group. She loved vacation trips to Maine, Florida and North Carolina. She was an avid New York Yankees fan. She was blessed with her grandchildren Jewell and Isaac and a lifetime of friends.

In addition to her husband George (David) Jones, she is survived by her children Heath (Alice) Jones of Raleigh, NC and Hesper Jones of Morganton, NC, her grandchildren Jewell and Isaac Jones of Raleigh, NC, her siblings Jan (Don) Ammerman of Castleton, Gayle Girvin of Greenfield Center, Patricia (Terry) Romeo of Synders Lake, Debra Bloomingdale of Troy, and John Bloomingdale of Troy.

Joanne was predeceased by her mother, father and several aunts and uncles.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Peter’s Hospital for their loving care of Joanne.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial service will be held at a later date at Trinity Church of Lansingburgh.
