Kathleen Place

Kathleen McConnell Place, 60 of Main Avenue passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady after a long illness.

Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late William P. McConnell, Jr. and Dorothy Lee McConnell.

Raised in Troy, she was a graduate of Keveny High School, Cohoes.  Kathleen was a nurse with the O.D. Heck Development Center in Schenectady for 25 years, retiring in 2012.  Kathleen will be remembered for her service and respect for her patients and for her love of animals.

Survivors include her two daughters Tarah Sawitzki (Christopher) of Rotterdam, Melanie Muller, her granddaughter Emily Muller both of Schenectady, her sister Barbara Casey, her brother William P. McConnell, III both of Troy, five nephews and one niece.

Kathleen was also predeceased by her sister Mickie Dufresne.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
