Linda Simard Bailey, 59 of North Pointe Apartments, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 with her devoted and loving husband Will by her side, after a long brave battle with cancer.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of Joan Roberts Simard of Troy and the late Eugene Simard and wife of Willard D. Bailey of Clifton Park, they were married for 26 years.
Raised and educated in Lansingburgh, she was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School, class of 1974. Linda worked at the Eddy Memorial Nursing Home in Troy as a certified nursing assistant for 18 years. Linda was a very kind and giving person to all who knew her. She was devoted to her family and they were a great source of joy. During her many years of fighting her cancer, she never gave up on caring for her patients at the Eddy. She was a member of the U.S. Health Care Association.
Survivors in addition to her loving husband, Will, include her daughter Rebecca O'Donnell (Fred) of Troy, her son Paul O'Donnell (Amy) of Wynantskill, a stepson Kyle Bailey of Rensselaer, six grandchildren, her siblings Earl Simard of Schenectady, Barbara Biette (Gary) of Troy, Dawn Simard (Bud Mitchell) of Troy, Arthur Simard (Annette) of Troy, Christopher Simard of Troy, mother in law Lillian Burr of Latham, sisters in law Beverly Peyser and Linda Carman. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oakwood Bible Church, 260 Oakwood Avenue, Troy with Rev. James Dujack officiating.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Oakwood Bible Church prior to the service.
Burial will follow the services at the Oakwood Bible Cemetery, Troy.
