Troy-Linda Marie Vanier, 64 passed away on November 4, 2017 at the St. Peter’s Hospice Inn. Born in Murphysboro, Tennessee she was the daughter to Elizabeth Rousseau Vanier.
Linda graduated from Hudson Valley Community College and College of St. Rose receiving a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. Taught Seton Day Care in Troy NY. She was in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27 and paralyzed from the chest down. Even being paralyzed, having diabetes, and going though cancer, she still touched many people’s lives never thinking about herself. She was truly Wonder Woman portrayed by Linda Carter. She was a strong woman, a Mom, friend, and sister who never complained about the many struggles and difficulties throughout her life. She was always a giver and put everyone’s needs ahead of her own. She was an avid artist and donated artwork to the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association. She also supported several children in the Christian Children’s Fund. She also volunteered at the Rape Crisis Center for over 10 years at Samaritan Hospital in Troy NY. She was truly a Wonderful Woman and will be missed.
Linda is survived by her loving children LaKee Miner (Lloyd) of East Nassau, Ezekiel Jackson of Troy and Zebadiah Jackson of Florida, her cherished grandchildren Sean, Nathan and Tessla Miner, her devoted siblings David Vanier and Sharon Lacoss, and her faithful service canine companion “Sadie”. She is also survived my many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday November 8, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
