Marcia Brown

Marcia (Dormandy) Brown passed into eternal life on June 20th 2017 at the wonderful age of 100. Born in Troy, NY on May 24th 1917, Marcia was the

daughter of the late M. Elizabeth and Charles G. Dormandy. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Paul Brown whom she married in 1945. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Hope Mealy-Knight, Roger and David Dormandy. She is survived by her brother Gilbert of Michigan.

Marcia is also survived by her five children Marilyn Trombley (Ronald) of Pittstown NY, Laurel Zona (William) of Round Lake, NY, Shelly DiPietro (George) of Troy NY, Peter Brown of Cambridge NY and Nancy Ciccolella (James) of Saratoga Springs, her 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one grandson.

As per Marcia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. Cremation will be at the Gardner Earl Crematory in Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a time and date to be announced.

Those who wish can make a contribution in Marcia’s name to the Lansingburgh Boys and Girls Club, 501 4th Avenue, Troy, NY 12182. The club was founded by Marcia’s mother in 1937.
