Troy- Margaret A. Hayner passed away Saturday August 13, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born in Troy to the late George Frisch and Anna Maria Hartmann Frisch and was the loving wife to Marvin Hayner Sr.
Margaret graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1951, married the love of her life, and raised six children. She then went on to work for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for 20 years.
Margaret shared her time and talents with the community, especially Central Little League and St. Patrick's Parish in Troy, where she was a teacher's assistant and taught religious education. She was very devoted to her family and was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her loving husband Marvin Hayner Sr. of Troy, she is survived by her children, Midge (Frank) Groff of Malta, Martha (Joe) Rounds of Troy, Curtis (Beth) Hayner of Troy, Marvin Jr. (Lynn) of Troy, and Alida (Kevin) Buchan of Averill Park, along with 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her daughter in-law Mary Hayner, former daughter-in-law Terri McLaughlin Hayner, three sisters in-law Alida Hayner, Joan Hayner and Dolores Burke, and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her son Joseph Hayner, daughter Paula Hayner, brother George Frisch, and sister Pauline Frisch.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at McLoughin & Mason Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at St. Jean’s Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh.
Memorial donations in memory of Margaret may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The March of Dimes.
