Tennessee- Margaret (Peggie) Garren LaPosta, 88, passed away on Monday May 31, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Peggie was the daughter of H.L. (Jack) Garren and Margaret (Peg) Hartzell Garren. She was the loving wife to the late James E. LaPosta Sr who passed on April 5, 2019. Peggie was born and raised in Lake Placid, New York and graduated from Lake Placid High School in 1951. She attended the Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in Troy and graduated in 1955. Peggie worked at Samaritan Hospital for 35 years as a nurse manager for labor and delivery, nurse recruiter, and nurse administrator. She was the founder and director of the Lamaze Program at Samaritan Hospital and was a Certified Childbirth Educator. After leaving Samaritan Hospital, Peggie served as an interim Director of Nursing at Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, FL and spent six years at Ellis Hospital in Nursing Administration, retiring in 2000. Peggie is survived by her sons James E. LaPosta (Susie) of Connecticut, John G. LaPosta (Tina Kruger) of Latham, daughter Kathi Carney (Mark Rennick) of Nashville, TN, niece Peggy Quick, grandchildren Garren, Joseph, Nicholas, Sophia LaPosta of Clifton Park, James E. LaPosta lll and Diane LaPosta of New York. Peggie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and her brothers H.L. Garren Jr. and R. Craig Garren. Family and friends are invited and may call on Saturday June 5, 2021 from 3-6 PM at the McLoughlin and Mason Funeral Home, funeral service will directly follow at the funeral home.
