Mary Curran

Mary C. Curran (83), entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 30. 2021 in Delmar, NY.

Mary was born in St. Maelruans Park, Tallaght, County Dublin, Ireland where she attended St. Mary’s School.  She came to the United States, settled in No. Albany where she raised her family.  She loved being in the United States.  She worked her entire career at The University Club in Albany.  In retirement she volunteered, then worked at PS 19, on New Scotland Ave, in Albany, helping everyone she could.

Mary was a devout catholic, who attended St. Mary’s Church on Lodge St in Albany.  She was a life member at the A.O.H Hibernian Hall.  She enjoyed knitting, baking, Irish music and dancing.  She loved watching the N.Y Knicks.  She enjoyed her trips home to Ireland to visit her family. Nothing made her happier than having her children and grandchildren visit for tea.  Mary was a kind and selfless lady who always went out of her way to help others.

Mary is survived by her four children, Christina (Larry) Drew, Sean Michael, Maria (Donald) Howell, and James Patrick. Beloved Nana of Sara (Matt) Howansky, Brendan and Ashley Howell.  Joey, Stephen and Ryan Drew. Her four great grandchildren, Rileigh, Jackson, Rayna and Alina. Her two brothers in Ireland Shay and Paddy Dunney. Predeceased by two brothers, John and Christopher and former husband Sean Curran.

Nana will be sorely missed every second, every minute, every day!

We would like to extend out deepest appreciation to the staff at Good Samaritan in Delmar.  Thank you so much for all the wonderful care.

Due to the current situation with Covid 19, there will be a private service.
