Mary Harris

Mary Jo Bess Harris was born in Brooklyn, N.Y on March 28,1960.  She grew up in Park Slope on 4th Street where she made lifetime friends who became more like family.  She also met and married Joseph Harris but they eventually separated.

Mary Jo overcame many obstacles throughout her lifetime.  Her greatest accomplishment was giving birth to her son Matthew Tyler Bess. She enjoyed motherhood in all its aspects and loved her son dearly.  She had a love for music especially R&B and soul and she could party with the best of them.  Mary Jo made sure it was clear that she was entitled to her opinion and although she had a strong personality she wore her heart on her sleeve.

Mary Jo went on to meet our Lord and Savior on July 28, 2017.  She is survived by her son Matthew, her two sisters Jacqueline and Verna, her two aunts Bernice and Bernatha, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
