Valley Falls-Mary Beth Lanzillo, 66 of Tomhannock, died on March 15, 2018 of complications from Multiple Myeloma. Born March 19th 1951 in Troy, she was the daughter of the late John and Marilyn Nugent Wallace and wife of James A. Lanzillo for 42 years.
Mary Beth was a graduate of Catholic Central High School, class of 1969 and Hudson Valley Community College, class of 1973.
Mary Beth retired in March 2014 after 40 plus years at Albany Medical Center Hospital, in the Clinical Chemistry Lab.
She was a communicant of Transfiguration Parish and active in many parish activities. She spent many summers at Babcock Lake and was a member of Babcock Lake Property Owners Association, she was a former Girl Scout leader and she bowled for many years at Alpha and Hilltop Bowling lanes. Mary Beth was also a member of the Hoosick Valley Booster Club, she also coached house league soccer for many years.
Mary Beth was a charter member of Brunswick Elks and was active in CCHS phon-a-thon for many years.
In addition to her husband James, she was a devoted mother to Carl (Julie) Lanzillo of Clayton, NC, Kelly Lanzillo of Schaghticoke and Kathryn “Katie” Lanzillo of Troy, sister to Marilyn (the late Ned) Soccio of Hampton Beach, NH, John (Debbie) Wallace of East Greenbush, Jerrold (the late Cindy) Wallace of Ballston Lake, Margaret “Peggy” (Rich) Harte of Troy, also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 am on Monday March19, 2018 at the Transfiguration Parish 50 Hillview Drive, Troy. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Family and friends may call from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday March 18, 2018 at Transfiguration Parish Church.
