Nancy Phoenix Luce, 83, of Donegal Avenue passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born in Hagaman, New York, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Phoenix, Sr. and Leona Ruback Phoenix and wife of the late Walter E. Luce, Sr. Raised in Green Island, she was a graduate of Heatly High School. Nancy was a homemaker most of her life, she was devoted to her family, and they were a source of deep joy to her. She enjoyed playing pinochle and going to the racino with her friends. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis de Sales Church in Troy.
Survivors include her children John P. Luce (Patricia) of Troy, Kathleen Camprone (John Snyder) of Wynantskill, Pamela Higgins (Late Victor) of Troy, Cynthia Schickler (Richard) of CT, Walter E. Luce, Jr. (Nicholl) of Troy, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, her sister Doris Kane of Cohoes, several nieces and nephews and her lifelong friends Shirley Naples, Lois and Joe Vartigian. Nancy was predeceased by her two daughters Deborah Stacy and Karen Luce, a brother Ernest Phoenix, her three sisters Marilyn Singleton, Carol Greaves and Joyce O'Brien.
Funeral service will be held at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 from McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and 9:00 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, (today) May 23, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
