Patricia Simmons Mitola

Troy- Patricia Simmons Mitola, 83, of Woodward Avenue, died Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital.

Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Harold Banten and Margaret Heffernan McCabe and wife of the late Alphonso Mitola.

Raised and educated in Troy, she was a graduate of Troy High School and went on to work for Albany Memorial Hospital as an Accounts Payable Supervisor for over 30 years.

Patricia was a lifelong member of the St. Patrick’s Parish in Troy, which she deeply cherished. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods Resort Casino and spending time with her family.

Patricia is survived by three children Jenny Simmons of Troy, Steven Simmons (Cheryl) of Colonie, Peter Simmons (BettyAnn) of Schaghticoke, three grandchildren Mark, Eric and Jeffrey Simmons, her great granddaughter, Jordyn Simmons and her sisters, Dora Banten Kane Strode and Jean Bayly. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her former husband Anthony Simmons, her brother, Richard Banten and her sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Banten and Marion Bestle Hood.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh with Rev. David Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy,

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
