Raymond Anderson

Troy- Raymond Anderson, 82, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 12, 2021 at Samaritan Hospital. Ray was the son of the late Arthur and Mildred Anderson. Ray was known for his uncanny wit and somewhat gruff manner. Ray was very passionate about horses and spent time visiting The Little Brook Farm in Chatham NY. Ray donated to the farm monthly to help keep the horses in feed and hay. Ray is predeceased by his parents and his sister Joyce Smarro. Ray is survived by his sister Carolyn (Steve) Reynolds, brother-in-law Terry Smarro, nephews Terry (Debbie) Smarro, David (Rita) Smarro, Ric (Natalie) Smarro, Henry (Diana) Knoepfle and Mark (Deanna) Knoepfle, he also had a very close relationship with his great-niece Sydney Smarro. The family would like to thank the members of the ARC of Rensselaer County and his family that worked with Ray at his residence at Diamond Rock in Troy, NY, especially his close friend Tom Hirsch. Private services will take place on Monday August 23, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery.
