Richard J. Burke Jr 47, entered into eternal life peacefully on January 31, 2017 after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. He was the son of Richard J. Burke and the late Josephine Ann [Brewer] Burke of Averill Park; and devoted partner and best friend for the past 20 yrs. of Becky Tymula.
Born in 69’, he spent the 1st year of his life traveling throughout Germany with his parent. Attended Averill Park High School and worked for Paradise Tree Service, Davy Tree Service, and Edgeco Environmental and Envirotech Environmental.
Loved playing baseball, softball, fishing boating, bowling, riding his motorcycle and being around friends and family. Some of his most enjoyable times were trips to Florida and camping at Paradox Lake in the Adirondacks. In addition to Becky, he loved being with his other two best friends Mike Kennedy and his faithful companion Sophie. He ran the Sports Triathlon for many years at the Watervliet Elks winter indoor Clam Steam before coming down with Multiple Myeloma. He is also survived by a sister Jennifer Burke, two nephews Deven [Carolyn] Burke and Jesse Burke-Noble and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Multiple Myeloma Foundation in his name would be appreciated.
A celebration of life will be held at the American Legion Post 1489, 111 Main Ave. Wynantskill New York on Tuesday Feb 7th from 4 - 8pm.
