Shirley Large

Shirley A. (Wattendorf) Large "Nana", 76 passed away on Thursday May 26, 2016 at Samaritan Hospital with her loving family by her side following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking and spending time with her family.

Born in Troy on May 14th, 1940 she was the daughter of the late John and Marjorie Wattendorf. She is survived by her husband David J. Large, her children Kevin (Marie) McKinney, Ron (Rhonda Teal) McKinney and Robyn J. (Mark) Shanks, her grandchildren Christine (Michael) Mainville, Katie (Kyle) Simmons, Ryan (Michelle Welch) Coulter & Shaina M. Shanks, her great grandchildren Jacob Mainville, Brayden R. Coulter, Lilliana Welch & Carly Simmons, her brother Jon Wattendorf and her extended family, also her beloved and loyal pet companions Molly and JJ.

Shirley and her family would like to thank the Rensselaer County Hospice, Karen, Colleen, Chaplin Jerry, Debbie, Penny, Mary, and all of the staff on the 6th Floor at Samaritan Hospital and Ludder's Country home, Ginny, Peter & staff and also Tonya from meals on wheels for all the care and compassion shown to Shirley and the family during this very difficult time. Also Lisa Caporizo from free to be me rescue and her Husband Steve Caparizo (Pet Connection).

Per Shirley's wishes there will be no calling hours. Arrangements by McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, Lansingburgh.
