Teresa Kelley

Teresa J. Kelley, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2015 surrounded by her lucky family, loving friends, and dedicated caregivers at the Eddy Village Green in Cohoes.
Teresa was born and raised in Troy; daughter of John F. Cody and Alice M. McClean Kelley. She had seven siblings: Jack Cody, Betty O'Connor, Dorothy Collins, William Cody, Mildred Rounds, Daniel Cody and Alice Wager (all predeceased).

Teresa raised two uniquely wonderful children, Thomas Kelley (Nancy) and Kim Todd (Russell), with her belated husband Arnold Kelley of 32 years. She was an endless source of strength for her family. Teresa (Nany) is cherished beyond words by her two grandchildren, Shannon Kinnear (Kris) and Samantha Kelley (fiancé Chris Saddlemire), and beloved by her surviving canine kids.


Teresa attended St. Augustine's School and Catholic Central High School, dancing up a storm at every chance while keeping up her studies. She retired from the telephone company (NYNEX/Verizon), making lifelong friends during her tenure. Teresa also wore many important hats behind-the-scenes at her son's Troy business, Tom's Furniture. She stayed active in numerous social clubs throughout her retirement, including the Pioneers of America and the Spiegletown Elders, where she continued to grow her friendships.
Teresa savored and infused laughter into every moment spent with her family and friends no matter the place - be it vacations to Cape Cod or Hampton Beach, trips to visit family in California and Florida, or gambling excursions to Atlantic City and the Races. Teresa also found great contentment in her own company, reading and enjoying her sunny backyard sanctuary. Most of all, she valued being a refuge for friends and family to come to and rejuvenate.


The family would like to sincerely thank the staff and the residents at Eddy Village Green House 1 for their compassionate care of Teresa; you truly made it a happy home.

Funeral service will be Monday August 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th Street and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Teresa Kelley.
