Tervanda Karagozian (Karayan) TROY- Tervanda Karagozian (Karayan), 89, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 7 2016, at Eddy Village Green Nursing home, due to health complications. Born in Aleppo, Syria on March 4, 1929. Tervanda was one of five children born to the late Panos and Lucia Karagozian. Tervanda is survived by her six children, Marie Karayan, Kevork (Taqoush) Karayan, Lucine (Levon) Baghdasarian, Vartan (Elza) Karayan, Buzant Karayan, and Anita Karayan. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Following her marriage, she dedicated herself to her husband, her home, and to raising her family. Tervanda was Matriarch of the family and her spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. Tervanda immigrated to the United States in 1980 were she later became a U.S Citizen. She was a person of faith and lived life serving others. Tervanda leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family and friends. She will be missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. She rejoins her loved ones, Khachadour Karayan (spouse), Panos and Lucia Karagozian (parents), Louysdzine, Sadie, and Nazaret Karagozian (siblings). “I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Now there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me…” (II Timothy 4:6-8)
