Thomas "TJ" Halpin passed away unexpectedly at home on November 9th, 2021.
TJ was a lifelong resident of Troy and attended Our Lady of Victory elementary, LaSalle Institute high school, and SUNY at Plattsburgh, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
As a young boy TJ enjoyed the outdoors, frequently playing hockey from dawn to dusk on the frozen ponds of Frear Park. Hockey stayed a lifelong passion.
He was a gifted musician teaching himself to play the guitar as a teenager and carrying that on into adulthood.
TJ was employed in several local businesses in the sporting goods and swimming pool industries until his retirement in 2019.
When his mom had to move to a nursing home due to ill health, TJ visited her daily bringing treats and insuring that she was well cared for by staff. His dedication to her comfort was admirable and most appreciated by family and friends. TJ is survived by two younger brothers: Pat Halpin of White River Junction Vermont, and Jim Halpin of Bow Washington.
A memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined.
